REGULATIONS
OF THE GRECO-ROMAN WRESTLING
VETERANS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
31 AUGUST- 2 SEPTEMBER 2007 SZOMBATHELY
I. GENERAL
1./ The International Federation
of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA) has entrusted the Hungarian Wrestling Federation with organising the 2007 Greco-Roman
Veterans World Championship in Szombathely, Hungary.
2./ The FILA Greco-Roman
Veterans World Championship will be prepared by the organising Committee set up within the Hungarian Wrestling Federation.
3./ These regulations have
been drawn up and approved in accordance with the statutes and regulations of the FILA.
II. VENUE AND DATE
1./ The 2007 Greco-Roman
Veterans World Championship will take place in Szombathely. The venue will be conducted at the ARENA SAVARIA (Szombathely, Sugár út. 18.,tel: 36 94 513 742) with 5000 seats. There will be available all necessary
facilities for competitors, coaches, officials, referees and reporters.
2./ The competition will
take place on 31 August – 2 September 2007. Upon arrival detailed package of information will be distributed.
III. PARTICIPATION
1./ Participation in the 2007 FILA Greco-Roman Veterans World Championship is open to all national wrestling
federations affiliated with FILA, provided that they have fulfilled their financial obligations toward FILA according to the
FILA Statutes and Regulations and towards the organising committee as per these Regulations for the duration of the Championship.
2./ Each national federation
shall be entitled to enter as many wrestlers as it wishes.
3./ All participating countries
are required to bring referees according to
the normal organization procedures of Championships.
4./ In the framework of the
Championship a type "I" referees' course will be held for new international referees.
IV. TECHNICAL CONDITIONS
1./ The competition will
be held according to the FILA Rules of Wrestling and all other Regulations of FILA
2./ The competition will
be conducted in Greco-roman style only.
3./ 3 (three) mats White Raven will be used for the competitions.
4./ The competition will
be held in the following age categories and weight classes.
N.B:For all age categories,
the weight classes will be identical.
Division "A" 35 - 40 years
Division "B" 41 - 45 years
Division "C" 46 - 50 years
Division "D" 51 - 55 years
Division "E" + 56 years
Division "A, B, C, D, E"
1. 50 - 58 kg
2. 63 kg
3. 69 kg
4. 76 kg
5. 85 kg
6. 97 kg
7. 97 - 130 kg
V. MEDALS AND TROPHIES
1./ Medals (gold, silver
and bronze) will be presented to the first, second, and third wrestler in each weight category. Participation diplomas will
be presented to all wrestlers.
VI. MEDICAL
1./ Each wrestler has to
pass a medical examination in his own country at least three days efore leaving his country for the competition in Hungary.
This certificate must be produced at weigh-in.
2./ Each wrestler will undergo
a medical examination one hour before weigh-in.
VII. COMPETITORS LICENSE-AGE VERIFICATION
1./ Any Veteran Wrestler
who competes in the World Championship must hold an international licence for the current year.
2./ The licence for veterans does not give the right for FILA insurance. Consequently all participating wrestlers
must be covered by individual insurance. The organiser and FILA are not responsible for any medical costs with the exception
of first aid (at organiser's expenses).
3./ The team leader and / or the individual athlete will submit all final entries with the age, weight and name
of each participant from his country to the Secretariat six hours before weigh-in.
4./ Each individual participant
must submit his passport both at accreditation and to the Secretariat at the weigh-in for proof of age, name and country.
VIII. ENTRIES
1./ Entries on the official
entry forms are to be send as follows to the Organising Committee (see XIII. 1. for address):
A: Preliminary Entry- by
the National Federation - 30 June 2007.
B: Entry by Name and Weight-
by National Federation - 31 July 2007.
C: Final Entry- by team leader
six (6) hours before the weigh-in.
IX. TRANSPORTATION
1./ All teams, delegations
or individuals are expected to arrive and depart from Szombathely. If required, for teams, individuals arriving by plane or
train to Budapest paid transportation (20 EUR or 25 USD/one way/person) will be provided
from Budapest Airport/Railway Station, Vienna and Graz Airport to Szombathely
and back provided that participants have informed the Organising Committee of
their arrival time in advance. Any such request should be indicated to organizers until
July 31. 2007. Free transportation will be available from Szombathely Railway Station to accomodation sites and from
hotels to the competition venue.
2./ For citizens of certain
countries it is mandatory to obtain entry visa to Hungary.
X. ACCOMODATION
1./ Participating teams and
the referees will be accomodated in the following hotel:

XI. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS
1./ Heads of delegations
and individual participants will pay their financial costs
to the Organising Committee
upon arrival, before accreditation. Payments must
be effected in cash, no credit
cards or checks are accepted.
2./ The participation fee
for all participants and accompanying persons is fixed
at CHF 130,-/day/person which
includes the costs of accomodation, board
and local transportation
in Szombathely and in Sárvár. According to FILA’s guidelines each participating person is required to pay the minimum
of 4 nights equal to CHF 520,-
